36 Weeks: Check, check, and check!

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

36 weeks.

I can't believe it! One week from being full term. 4 weeks until due date.

Is this really happening?

My goal by 36 weeks was to have everything packed and ready for the hospital. Not knowing if baby boy is still measuring 2 weeks ahead, I'm not sure if I'm 36 weeks or maybe 38 so I figured I better get ready and check that off my list. Will know more answers at the doctor this Thursday and they should be giving me another ultrasound to check.

So here we are at 36 weeks, bags ready and waiting [well minus some of Chad's things because he is a slacker and all my toiletries and such have yet to go into the Vera Bradley small bag. But hey, they are at least there and ready! Anything you moms can think of that are "MUST HAVES" for the hospital stay? Did you take your own pillow?]

Obviously the play mat does not go, it's just there along with some other baby stuff in the guest bedroom.

Here's what I'm up to at 36 weeks. No need for an updated pic. Belly is still big.
Ok, maybe bigger...

How far along? 36 weeks today

Maternity clothes? yes and I'm sick of them at this point. Even the maternity jean panel is getting way too tight and nearly unbearable. Hey, I've even moved up to wearing the hubs t-shirts at night!

Symptoms? Oh man, just feeling large and in charge. Stomach feels like it's stretching to the max. I get up at least 5 times at night to go to bathroom and sometimes I can't fall back asleep. The other night I was up making waffles at 1 am, then another night cereal at 2:30 am. I am serious, this baby boy is hungry all the time. Feeling lots of pressure and pains. Lower back is sore. I'm beginning to swell/face puffy. Waddling. I guess the lovely usual things you feel at 36 weeks prego!

Stretch marks? None so far so please please please Lord spare me these next four weeks. I am very surprised I haven't but cocoa butter and BioOil have been my best friends. I use it twice, sometimes three times a day - seriously.

Sleep? Like I said, insomnia [and apparently late night feedings] is taking over at this point.

Best moment this week? Putting together items like the swing and bouncy seat [made it feel all the more real] and having my in-laws and my mom come help me work on things around the house. Also getting bags packed "just in case" was an accomplishment. I feel like a bit of a load has been lifted off my shoulder. Still a good bit to do but very appreciative for their help!

Movement? Um yes. I swear sometimes it feels like he's going to punch through my belly. He is so strong. I sent my sister an iPhone video and her response was "Holy crap!!! That's so weird!" Yeah, tell me something I don't know.

Cravings? Yes, all of the sudden out of the blue I begin craving things like crazy Cold cold cold fruit pops, ice cream, KFC mashed potatoes?, hot wings?, mexican, sweet tea [all the time!] and cereal is still a must.

Gender? Boy! Joshua Cade

Labor Signs? still a few Braxton Hicks contractions and lower back is sore. He's still moving around like crazy though so everyone told me not to worry until he STOPS moving. Right?

Belly Button In or Out? It's still flat

What I miss? wearing regular clothes and being able to breathe/sleep well!!

What I am looking forward to? Definitely looking forward to my doctor appointment this Thursday and hopefully another ultrasound to see what he is measuring. Looking forward to a huge sale event at Sugar on Thursday and then I turn the big 2-8 this Saturday and have my last shower at our church on Sunday!

Weekly Wisdom: I wonder if Cade knows how wonderful of a present he would be on his mommy's birthday? ;) I keep saying he can't arrive until after our huge event at Sugar this Thursday but then after that I would welcome him ANY time. I am so ready to meet the little fella but it's all in God's hands. His timing is always perfect. I say that over and over.

Milestones: Baby Center says baby weighs about 6 pounds and around 18 inches. We'll see at the ultrasound. I'm predicting 6.5 already. Will keep you updated.
