one grand father.

Today would be my Papa Young's 92nd birthday. He was such an amazing, dedicated, Christian man who we miss very very much.
{i scanned these old photos a few years ago for a dvd for mom and would love to frame these in a collage
 one day for our house. I love antique photos}
Papa { James Olin "J.O." Young} was in the Navy and worked at the Charleston, SC Shipyard
until my mom was 12 and they moved back to his old homeplace in Iva, SC

My grandparents, J.O. & Lois, had my mom when they were 42, so by the time my sister and I arrived they were in their 60s already. However, like Frank Sinatra says it doesn't matter your age as long as you are "young at heart" , which they definitely were...
So young at heart that since they were retired, they kept us everyday while mom and dad worked. Those days were the best memories of our childhood. We were the only grandchildren, and needless to say
they spoiled us a little...ok, well a lot!

We celebrated our birthdays together every year since I can remember...

Since he passed away in 2006, I have certainly missed having him by my side...
